In the presence of the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmygal, on June 25, a loan agreement between Ukraine and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development was signed for the $ 350 million First Project for Development Policy in the Sphere of Economic Recovery.
The agreement was signed by the Minister of Finance of Ukraine Serhiy Marchenko and the Senior Project Portfolio Manager of the World Bank in Ukraine Klavdiya Maksymenko.
According to the Prime Minister, $ 350 million. The United States will focus on the recovery and development of Ukraine’s economy during the pandemic, on social support for vulnerable groups, as well as on strengthening state institutions.
“Thanks to these funds, we will be able to implement systemic projects for the fair development of the land market, continue the reform of the gas sector, as well as strengthen the credit market. Restoration of economic growth and modernization of the Ukrainian economy in a pandemic requires special policies and resources. And we are grateful that right now our partners from the World Bank are helping Ukraine and the Ukrainian people, “said Denis Shmygal.
The Head of Government thanked the World Bank specialists involved in the implementation of various projects in Ukraine and expressed confidence that the fruitful dialogue and cooperation between Ukraine and the World Bank will continue to develop.
