The State Food and Consumer Service together with the Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language will jointly monitor the implementation of the provisions of the Law “On Ensuring the Functioning of the Ukrainian Language as the State Language”. The memorandum was signed by the Head of the State Food and Consumer Service Vladyslav Magaletska and the Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language Taras Kremin.
“We must monitor compliance with legislation on consumer protection in terms of customer service, product labeling, etc., and respond accordingly to violations. I am glad that the Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language will help us in this, ”Vladyslava Magaletska said.
The parties agreed on cooperation, which provides for:
- prevention of violation of the rights and freedoms guaranteed to the citizens of Ukraine by the Constitution and laws of Ukraine, in particular with regard to obtaining information and
- services in the state language, elimination of obstacles and restrictions in the use of the state language;
- conducting joint activities on the use of the state language;
- monitoring the implementation of state policy in the field of ensuring the rights of citizens to receive information and services in the state language.
It will be recalled that one of the functions of the State Food and Consumer Service is to monitor compliance with legislation on consumer protection.
