On May 20, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine supported the appointment of Viktor Lyashko to the post of Minister of Health. The decision to appoint was supported by 262 people’s deputies.
Following the decision of the Verkhovna Rada, the new Minister took the oath and was introduced to the staff of the Ministry with the participation of the Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers Oleg Nemchinov.
“As of today, I continue my work in the Ministry of Health as the head. For me, this is primarily a responsibility. In the near future, I will present a team of deputies, but I assure you that these will be people who share my principles in work – work responsibly, transparently and set high goals.
I consider all of us as a single team, and I will try to promote the maximum realization of your potential “- said the Minister in his speech to the team.
Viktor Lyashko noted that he has ambitious goals to vaccinate everyone who wants to be vaccinated against COVID-19 by the end of 2021.
“I assure you that every hryvnia from taxpayers will be used responsibly and with maximum benefit for the patient. People should be sure that they will be provided with professional medical care, and doctors that the state guarantees a salary increase, “the Minister of Health stressed in his speech.
On June 2, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine appointed Petro Yemets and Ihor Kuzin as Deputy Ministers of Health of Ukraine, and the latter also became the new Chief Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine.
On June 9, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine appointed Oleksandr Komarida Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine for European Integration.
